C – Preparation of the Game
Get familiar with the Game and its Game Rounds
At first the coach should get familiar with the game and its game rounds. He has to understand the game and the rounds in order to be able to answer emerging questions to the participants and to guide some ideas into a certain direction. Therefore, please have a deeper look on the prepared round cards and the game play beforehand.
We recommend the coach to play the game on his own or in a small group, in order to get a better feeling about the structure of the game.
Prepare the Webinar surrounding (Self-Demonstration via Webcam)
Before starting the game, the factory model is prepared according to the provided image on the next slides. Feel free to deviate from that initial set-up to play different or your own scenarios. Please ensure to have a table of sufficient size to place the game model on it. Orient yourself on the initial situation photo on the next sides.
Build the model on the table beforehand and determine the webcam position and angle, lighting, etc. Please keep in mind that, in addition to a good webcam, you need a sufficiently fast internet connection to offer a high qualitative video conference to your participants.
Some elements are not released at the beginning of the game. Define an area next to your table on which all these items are stored and can be picked during the game.
If necessary, you can also limit the total area of the production with the marking tape. Thus, the participants have to look for solutions that fit within the “4 walls”.
Please prepare before starting the webinar:
- Send the handouts to the participants and let them print these out (you can find the handouts below)
- Print out the Scorecard (find the draft of the score card on the LeanActivity Online Platform)
- Stopwatch (you can also use your mobile phone for time measurements)
- Prepare the material and WIP (transportation) boxes (see video below)
